What we did

We focused the day around working with the horses and discussing our experiences. Getting hands on with the horses generated such a lot of discussion about how we are as communicators, leaders and managers - remember we are working with horses on the ground and there is no riding involved.

The horses proved again and again to be great teachers. Working with the horses throughout the day brought increasingly useful changes in self-awareness which led to changes in attitude, state and behaviour.

The individuals within each group, gave themselves up to the experience and were prepared to listen to the feedback from the horses in a way that they had not allowed themselves to before.

The delegates were unable to negotiate verbally with the horses, to justify and explain themselves (even though some tried), therefore they had to dig deep to find other means. They became increasingly aware of the need to access inner resources mainly: focus, intention, determination and clarity of purpose. In doing so, they shifted away from covering up behaviour with words and explanations and began to focus on projecting their own purpose and energy.
